Slow Sessions
This is an opportunity to join with other instrumentalists in a relaxed atmosphere, playing several Irish and Scottish traditional tunes which are provided to participants when registering. The tunes are chosen because they are relatively simple and are played at slow speed. No pressure! Play what you can, ask for help or listen to the others.
Fiddle, Harp, Guitar, Whistle, Bodhran, Banjo, mandolin, Flute etc.
String Ensemble
Participants will be placed into groups depending on skill level. Each group will have several sessions rehearsing together and learning how to play in a string ensemble. Near-beginners will work on simple music with CD backing tracks. More advanced groups will aim to be able to perform several classical pieces as a string trio/quartet.
Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Traditional Harp Group
Small groups of harpers learning to play as part of a group. Participants will be placed in groups depending on their ability and music will be chosen to suit each group. Learn new tunes and new ways to accompany melodies. Harps may be available for those who do not have their own, but early booking is essential.

Harp For The “Unmusical”
These workshops are for adults who feel they could never learn an instrument, but would love to try. Numbers are kept small for individual attention with the emphasis on enjoyment. There is no need to be able to read music or have any musical knowledge as these workshops are designed for people who know absolutely nothing about music.
Beginner Tin Whistle
A workshop aimed at people with little or no musical experience. Learn basic technique and some simple tunes on one of the most portable instruments.
For health and safety reasons participants must have their own whistle in “D” or purchase one on the day.

Also Planned:
Jazz workshops: Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet
Musical Theatre: Starting September 2010
Rockschool Workshops: Preparation for guitar and drum kit exams
